TEC is an advanced training event focused on advancing the skills of some of the most experienced users of specific Microsoft® Technologies. SmartSource Rentals was a natural choice to provide this kind of high level service, as well as the audio visual staging solutions required throughout the event. Some of the technology rental solutions provided at the Quest Software TEC 2010 included:

  • FSR Compass High Resolutions Seamless Switchers
  • LCD Projectors
  • LED Lighting
  • Meyer Sound & over 22 Shure Wireless Mics

All the high-end computer/IT support, audio visual staging  & professional support provided by SmartSource surrounding the TEC event allowed the conference to run smoothly and without a hitch. How to Video – Trade Show Internet

Check out this 1 minute video on the new Trade Show Internet solution for trade show managers, conference hosts, meeting planners and exhibitors. SmartSource Rentals has partnered with Trade Show Internet (TSI) to provide a rental solution that provides reliable Internet connectivity in a turn-key package at a fraction of the cost charged by in-house providers.

One of the most common complaints from exhibitors at trade shows is the high cost of Internet Service. At many hotels, convention centers and exhibition halls this cost can exceed $1000 dollars for a 3 day event, and that is just for a single computer. Venues have been able to charge these exorbitant fees as they have had little competition and were many times the only option. With SmartSource Rentals and Trade Show Internet, those days are finally coming to an end.

A TSI internet kit provides a wireless internet connection that can be shared by multiple devices, much like the wireless routers you may use in your home. Hardwired devices can also connect to one of four physical ports. Everything you need to get online is included in a small, protective case that can be setup and running in a few minutes. Exhibitors attending shows that span multiple days often take the internet kit up to their hotel room at night to catch up on email or get some work done online without having to pay any in-room access fees.

Trade Show Internet uses a wireless spectrum that is regulated by the FCC and outside of the jurisdiction of any venue or exhibit hall. It does not require any in-house network infrastructure to work and allows you to connect online using a completely separate network that can reach T1 speeds. This combination allows SmartSource Rentals to offer it at a price that is a much better value to trade show managers and exhibitors.

Give SmartSource a call at 800-888-8686 to find out more about getting wireless internet access at your next event or submit one of our trade show internet quote requests online. More info is also available on the Trade Show Internet website.

The SmartSource Chicago office has a new General Manager with some deep roots in the local media and production Industry. Mike Fayette, founder of the famed ‘Post Effects’ studio, joins SmartSource Rentals effective May 3, 2010, as new General Manager in the Chicago Rentals Branch Location.

Fayette brings rich experience in both creative and technical work in his new position. Having this knowledge is critical to helping understand complex client needs when it comes to providing the right equipment to get the job done. Creative work does not always come in a one size fits all package, and the right tools and equipment are imperative. SmartSource Rentals is continuing to add employees that can use the technical experience they have in certain industries, and combine it with a world class technology inventory.

The following quote from Fayette offers a glimpse into the winning combination of industry experience & world class technology rental inventory, “For my entire career, I have helped organizations use technology to tell their stories to audiences all over the world…I feel that I have found a group of people who share my passion for deploying digital technology at hat engages an audience and allows them to view, interact and even contribute to the success of meetings, trades shows and other special venue events.”

Knowing what tools are needed to rent when completing a job is only half the battle. The other half involves having the technicians, coordinators and other professionals that know how best to use the equipment. National clients with large Audio Visual and Technology rental needs often come to SmartSource because they need a partner just as much as they need a rental equipment supplier. These companies know that they can work with SmartSource professionals that have specific experience in what they are trying to achieve. This experience helps them in the logistics and planning of complex events, but it also helps to ensure that their customers have the same experience anywhere in the nation.

This winning combination of industry experience, nationwide rental locations, fleet vehicles, in house technicians and a massive technology rental equipment inventory is what keeps SmartSource Rentals at the top of Nationwide Computer and AV Rental companies.
