SmartSource Computer & Audio Visual Rentals Teams up with Morgan Stanley to Give Young Patients at New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital Something to Smile About

SmartSource Computer & Audio Visual Rentals (Hauppauge, NY), one of the nation’s leading providers of computer, audio visual (AV) and trade show technology rentals and services, recently teamed up with Morgan Stanley in a philanthropic effort on behalf of New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.

SmartSource purchased and donated two LCD televisions to NYP-MSCH, which were provided along with several Playstation gaming consoles initially used at Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom Conference event earlier this year. For SmartSource, it was an opportunity to bring some joy to the young patients being treated in NYP-MSCH’s critical care and recovery wings, while also acknowledging the significant contributions Morgan Stanley, through its children’s hospital,  is making on behalf of children’s health.

According to SmartSource President and CEO Mike McClernon, “SmartSource is proud to participate in the good work done at the New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. That our partner and customer at Morgan Stanley, its Enterprise Infrastructure department, allowed us to participate in a small way in this effort is very gratifying.”

For its part, since opening the New York Presbyterian-Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in 2003, Morgan Stanley has made it the cornerstone of the Firm’s efforts and ongoing commitment to children’s health. The collection of entertainment technologies for the children’s hospital was spearheaded by Morgan Stanley employees in the Enterprise Infrastructure department.

SmartSource recognized that pediatric patients need an outlet to just be kids during their hospital stays. Through the gift of the new televisions and gaming consoles, they can forget for a little while that they are sick.
