Sonny Goyal – CEO
Sonny Goyal is the managing director of ABCOMRENTS, headquartered in Chicago. Sonny has achieved hyper-growth year over year based on his forward thinking mindset to bring fresh, new and innovative technology to the event rental industry. His drive comes directly from his passion for technology and bringing this technology to people through client events.
Sonny takes an active leadership role maintaining a front seat on industry trends, overseeing business development & operations and cultivating an energetic and fun corporate culture. He empowers his leadership team to be decision-makers and promotes the corporate culture throughout the team.
Outside of work, Sonny is also a husband and father of two young boys. Sonny is involved with Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) and Young Professionals Organization (YPO) which helps entrepreneurs lead and grow through peer-to-peer learning and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. One of his favorite things to do is listen to EDM (aka ENERGY) music.
Sanjay Kapur – COO
Sanjay serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the newly combined ABCOMRENTS and SmartSource Rentals. Previously, he was the President and CEO of SmartSource Rentals where he was instrumental in bringing the company to market and managing the ownership change.
Prior to that time, Sanjay held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In his role as COO, Sanjay led the Accounting, Finance, IT, Asset Management, and Operations departments and helped develop and set SmartSource’s strategic direction. Sanjay was hired in January 2016 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Prior to joining SmartSource Rentals, Kapur spent almost 20 years with Arrow Electronics, Inc., serving most recently as the CFO and Director of Finance for A.E. Petsche. In addition to his role as CFO for Petsche, Sanjay has held multiple executive operating roles at Arrow in areas of finance, sales management, marketing and procurement. Prior to Arrow, Sanjay spent five years with McKinsey & Company and two years with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Sanjay holds an MBA in Finance and International Business from the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Muskingum University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of New York.
Scott J. Brachmann – CFO
Scott is the Chief Financial Officer for ABCOMRENTS and SmartSource Rentals and joined the ABCOMRENTS business in January of 2019. Previously, Scott was the CFO of Shur-Line, LLC where he helped lead their acquisition of World and Main in 2018. Prior to that role, Scott was the CFO of Pure Health Solutions, Inc., a leading global manufacturer and lessor of bottleless water coolers, for 5 years. Scott has an extensive background with private equity-backed companies ranging in revenues from $20 million to $700 million, including leading FP&A at Culligan International and directing all global finance and treasury activities with The Nutrasweet Company. Scott began his career in public accounting with Arthur Andersen and worked in internal audit at Baxter International before moving into financial analysis with Monsanto Company.
Scott earned his BBA in Accounting with Highest Honors from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA with Distinction in Finance/Marketing from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He is a CPA.
Craig Sukenic – Vice President, Sales
Craig Sukenic is Vice President of Sales responsible for advancing the company’s strategic sales goals, including driving increased sales and broader partner relationships within SmartSource’s key target markets of conferences, events, trade shows, and business solutions. Sukenic brings over 20 years of sales experience and a proven track record for effectively developing and leveraging successful business development initiatives including digital marketing, channel and market expansion.
Prior to joining SmartSource, Craig served as Vice President of Strategic Sales with Comdata (Brentwood, TN), where he directed sales associates in delivering finance and payment Business Intelligence solutions to companies in the transportation industry. While with Comdata, he drove an annual sales revenue growth of 208%, built a stronger sales team, and instituted a more effective inside/outside sales model and compensation plan.
Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Michigan State University – The Eli Broad College of Business. He is an IBM Certified Sales Specialist and has completed IBM’s Executive Leadership Training and the SMU First-Line Management Certification Program.
Sue Aulenbacher – Vice President, Human Resources
Sue Aulenbacher is Vice President, Human Resources. She has a proven track record of delivering improvement to business growth, profitability, operations efficiency, and staff performance. Sue brings to her role extensive expertise in all areas of human resources and organizational development. Among her specializations are: talent management, employee relations, benefits, mergers and acquisitions, organizational development, performance management, and aligning human resources with business strategy.
Prior to joining SmartSource, Sue served as Senior Director, Human Resources with Veeco Instruments Inc. (Plainview, NY). Her other past positions also include: Director, Human Resources at CVC Inc. (Rochester, NY), and Human Resources Manager at Harris Corporation (Rochester, NY).
Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the State University of New York College at Potsdam.
Mark Adam – Vice President, National Field Operations
Mark Adam is Vice President, National Field Operations with responsibility for the company’s national Operations team. He brings almost two decades of experience in the computer and audio visual industry. Known as a consummate professional, Mark focuses on addressing the needs of his customers, from the Fortune 500 to middle market, closely-held and professional firms. He lends in-depth technical and hands-on operations experience to his role within the trade show, corporate event, and production management arenas.
Prior to assuming his current position at SmartSource, Mark served as Senior Vice President of All Service Computer Rentals, prior to its acquisition by SmartSource in 2003. His past positions also include: National Account Representative, Greater New York City area at Ceridian (New York, NY), Senior Account Representative, Greater New York City area at Wang Labs (New York, NY), and Sales Manager at Page America (New York, NY).
Mark graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He is a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity.
Stephen Rupolo, CPA – Vice President, Product Strategy
Stephen Rupolo joined SmartSource in 1987 as the Corporate Controller and was promoted to Vice President in 1996. In 2004, he was promoted to Senior Vice President & CFO. He now assumes a new role in the company, Vice President of Product Strategy, which focuses on assuring we have the right products available for our clients. Rupolo directs a team focused on the needs of our customers spanning a diverse group of channels and segments, from meeting and event planners to IT professionals in a broad range of industries. Steve began his accounting career at Delloite & Touche, where he earned his CPA. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Syracuse University-Utica College.
